Come try out the very popular bead/star style setting using simple graver as well as Peters brilliant newly patented EziSet pliers. Peter has many years experience training apprectices and jewellers in Australia and is visiting the UK to share his tried and true teaching method for these setting styles.

If you are interested in learning these techniques but have little or no experience or this is a fantastic introduction and intensive day of practice for you with an expert instructor.

During the course you will be introduced to all the unpinning principals and pitfalls you may encounter when cutting and setting these styles. This includes best practices in metal thickness ratios, getting the spacing and geometry right, what tools are needed and how to clean up effectivly after setting. Please note this is a setting course - you will not be fabricating.

As part of the course you will be given a setting pack including practice blanks, cubic zircons to practice on the day. Peter will have other of his specially made up setting packs available for purchse for further practice at home.

Rachel Hearne Jewellery School is a fully equipt jewellery studio meaning you will need to bring a minimal amount of tools (mostly burrs and bits) with you. Tool list TBC.
