Kerry Gregory from Gemmology Rocks will be with us for an open day here at Rachel Hearne Jewellery School. There will be Gemstone identification, Brilliant Bingo, Live Speed Quiz and Gemstone sale. Lot of shiny learning opportunities!

What is going on?

If you are not sure what the 5 Day Gemmology ID for Life course is all about this is a time to come and talk directly with Kerry about what is covered, what is in syllabus and how you will validate your skills. This unique course is taking place over the Autumn term 2025. It is a rare opportunity for anyone who works with gemstones to further their gemmological skill set without going through expensive and time consuming training.

While you are here you can bring in your unidentified gemstones for Kerry to have a look at. She can show you first hand how useful it is be able to test gemstones to be able to identify what you are working with.

Gemstone Bingo -missed out the last time this was offered? Well now is your chance to test yourself and your knowledge. This is great fun and a wonderful way to see what you can already recognise and get to learn a little bit about how many gemstones can be really tricky to identify.

Looks like a diamond- challenge can you spot the difference? Do CZ and Moissanite and diamonds look similar to you? Have a go at working out what is what!

You can part in the Live Speed Quiz – 6pm from the comfort of home if you wish. Just download the speedquiz app to take part and win a gemstone if you rack up the most points.  You need to be playing along on the app to win! *Also you need to have a good Wifi connection to do this.
