Lovelinks project

This is my big community art / fundraising project in aid of CancerCare. This is the closest I’ll get to a jewellery making marathon and I’ve facilitated over 20 hours of sessions so far.

The project brings people in the community together to create their own bespoke link that is connected with others to form a long chain. This will go on display in 2020 and will be later sold/auctioned as bracelets and necklaces to benefit CancerCare.

Visually the project aims to demonstrate how so many of us are connected by our experiences of cancer. We all know someone who has been effected by cancer and many of us have lost loved ones. Participants thus far have made a link in support of someone they know facing cancer and some have made one to remember a loved one. Everyone single link has a story and we have just over 150 links so far.
