What a commission! This has been such a wonderful journey I’m so delighted with the finished ring. Carole’s sapphire, a deep blue teal with flashes of green and some very interesting lineal inclusions, is very sentimental as she found it herself while on holiday many years ago. When she brought it to me the ring had been worn for many years, the stone was abraded and dull and the prongs had worn down so much it was needing a total replacement.

I organised the sapphire to be cut and polished to bring it back to life before reworking the ring design. Once it was sparkling again we began to discuss what she wanted to do which was to set it in a secure yet contemporary setting with diamonds on either side. She decided to use the ring shank from previous ring and 100% recycled gold to make up the rest. It’s simply gorgeous.
