Neil contacted me to ask if i could create a personal treasure from his Granfathers jewellery items that he wouldn’t wear as they were. It was a process of getting what he wanted right in the design stages as he wanted a heavily textured ring but a traditional sort of shape. Once we had the shape and sizing right for his hand we worked on the idea of the Goonies treasure box with lots of gems, coins, ingots, strands of pearls and X cross like nod to treasure map to make the texture. He came in and picked out a range of light bright Sapphires and I surprised him with a hidden internal ruby. It was hand carved in wax and cast using the heirloom gold. This was so much fun to create and it looks fabulous on his hand.
