Play-ority
When was the last time you found yourself on a swing? And then really going for it to get high as possible? I dare you to try it. Forget that you might look silly or scare off onlookers. Just allow yourself a few moments to feel how it feels to fight the gravity, feel the whoosh of the air around your body swirling and getting high enough to feel a little sinking in your gut as you fall backwards. Have you forgotten how to play?
One of the more efficient ways we learn as humans is through play. We are relaxed and uninhibited, we don’t listen to voice of doubt or worry we are doing it wrong. We make some mistakes but becuase we are playing so we don’t mind or even notice. We adults have so little playtime that when we do get a little time to be creative or silly we are rigid in “how” we do it. So I emplore you to be more playful in your approach to this life. It happens to be the very best way to tap into your creativity. Go blow some bubbles, dance like no one is watching or sketch without a plan with play as the focus. Make peace with the mistakes and revel in them they are proof that are growing and stretching.
“It is a happy talent to know how to play”- Ralph Waldo Emerson
