Grandma's Antique Ruby and Diamond Cluster remake

This was a commission of restoration and so sentimentally important. She wanted to preserve the exact look of the ring but make it much more durable and complete again. This antique Ruby and Diamond cluster style ring was ultra thin, only 0.03mm in most places which meant the head snapped completely off the shank and 3 of the little rubies were missing. She nearly lost the entire cluster head with all the gemstones as it went missing before she realised but luckily found it at home on the floor!

After carefully removing all the gemstones and assessing the damage the entire ring was remade out of much thicker gold, while 3 rubies were cut especially to fit the jigsaw space where they were once held before they went missing. The final result is a ring that will stand the test of time, completed and restored to its former glory. A little bit of Grandma’s sparkle back on her hand.
